More about the Weightlifting 50p
The practice of lifting heavy stones to determine one's strength commenced in ancient times, and featured in the first modern Olympics in 1896. Olympic weightlifting consists of two movements, first the snatch, then the clean jerk. The 50p was designed by Rob Shakespeare, a police officer and past weightlifter.
